EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

101.1 - WACO ELEMENTS OF SUCCESS

ALL WACO STUDENTS WILL:

1.     COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY.

             Use effective writing, speaking, and listening skills.

2.     DEVELOP AND EXHIBIT SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.

·            Cope with social and personal challenges (peer pressure, reasoning, decision-making).

3.     DEMONSTRATE BASIC ACADEMIC SKILLS.

·            Perform basic skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

4.     THINK CRITICALLY AND SOLVE PROBLEMS.

·            Apply critical-thinking strategies to solving problems and decision-making.

5.     USE AND APPLY TECHNOLOGY SKILLS.

·         Uses information technology as a lifelong learning tool.

·         Uses technology skills to communicate effectively with others.

·         Discerning consumers of information.

6.     COMMIT TO LEARNING AS A LIFE-LONG PROCESS.

·            Use skills to continue learning.

·            Adapt to change.

·            Evaluate and improve own performances.

7.     DEVELOP AND USE SOCIAL SKILLS.

·            Demonstrate personal responsibility in all situations.

·            Cooperate with others as part of a team.

8.     STRIVE TO LEAD A BALANCED LIFE.

·            Experience arts, sports, music, recreation, leisure activities, and community responsibility.

·            Practice a healthy lifestyle.

9.     EMBRACE DIVERSITY.

·            Understand global relationships.

·            Accept and appreciate differences in others.

·            Accept and respect others' ideas and opinions.
